Papacitos’ Chile Relleno Burrito

Eat this! A chile relleno stuffed in a burrito ($12) at the recently expanded Papacitos in Greenpoint. Dowse it with their homemade rojo or verde hot sauces, it’s frickin awesome.

Note that I had just come from a Chanukah party at Secret Project Robot. So maybe it was the Manischewitz talking, but I’m pretty sure that burrito was damn good. At the least, it is damn good drunk food. My favorite comment at the Chanukah party was some guy telling Bonnie, “I don’t know much about the Jewish religion. I just moved here from Pennsylvania.”

The newly expanded Papacitos is about four times bigger with a bar, three happy hours and karaoke on Thursday nights. It says on the $1 Taco Madness late night happy hour, they have the right to kick you out. I wonder if this was written before or after their owner/Chopped chef contestant got punched by a diner last week.
