Tedone Latticini Mozzarella Lady Closed

I read on my friend’s Facebook that she saw Tedone Latticini in Williamsburg all gutted out and photos of the Mozzarella Lady in the window. One can only presume the worse. Luckily, I came across this post where it says she’s just retired. So I’m wondering if it’s appropriate to go back and “Like” that status or not. I mean I like the Mozzarella Lady, but not that the store’s closed, and like that she’s just retired, but not dead.

Here’s my back posts of Tedone Latticini’s Fresh Mozzarella & Prosciutto and Smoked Mozzarella. Fabulous.

Hamburglar Of My Photos

The eagle-eyes over at Eater.com noticed my photo used in UK newspapers’ The Telegraph and the Daily Mail. I’m flattered and welcome our friends overseas to witness this monstrous beast that is Burger King’s New York Pizza Burger. I just wish they asked for permission or at least gave me a photo credit. I could have been as famous as Gordan Ramsay!

What does this mean for the bloggers? Anyone can use anything on the Internet for free without attribution? Shouldn’t these big guys know better? Am I just as wrong for posting screen shots of their copyrighted material on my site? Shit.

[Update: The Daily Mail added a © Me So Hungry to the photo]

Ice Cream Drawing Winners

For the SONIC Drive-In Ice Cream Social and lunch box goodie prizes, here are the best three submissions …out of a record-high three submitters. They are pretty rad.

From C. Marie: “Here is my drawing of all my friends if they were all women eating ice cream in a field at sunset listening to Ghostrider by Suicide. The flavors are Vanilla, Pistachio, Strawberry, and Hazelnut. I painted it on a piece of resume paper I found on the ground because what else would I use it for?”

I like the story behind this. I can’t believe the dog eats Pistachio!!

Double submission from BaconDevil:

If I was the size of a Bacon Devil, I guess I would also bath it in a sundae. But would I really make out with it? …What flavor?

And finally, from someone who is to remain anonymous:

Thanks for your drawings and thank you SONIC for the prizes.

Melinda’s Naga Jolokia Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce

Aaron brought over this bottle of ghost chile pepper hot sauce a few weeks ago for the Final Four. I always thought of Melinda’s as a pretty tame brand, so I was surprised they made something like this –with bhut jolokia (aka the hottest pepper in the world). We got scared when the tiniest drops started to get mixed in with the ketchup for our tator tots. Super nice burn and very addictive.

I grabbed a bottle for $9.75 at Dual Specialty Store (91 1st Avenue between 6th & 5th St in Manhattan), right underneath those upstairs Indian restaurants. There’s like two or three displays advertising this hot sauce at the register. Must be one of their biggest sellers. I haven’t stopped using this sauce all week. I can’t stop. Rusty and I agree that it doesn’t mess up our stomach like a lot of other hot sauces. Maybe it’s because we use such a small amount that it’s contained mostly in our mouth and never really hit our insides. Rusty also thinks it would help him wake him up in the morning with just a drop on his pee-pee. We’ll have to see.

Super A Beef Ravioli in Meat Sauce

The sale tag says C-Town, but we were in an Associated that just changed their name to Bravo! Supermarket. And is Super A a West Coast supermarket chain?

It wasn’t the sale that drew me these Super A cans of pasta, it was the labels. Besides the old fashioned generic design, I wondered if the food really looked as good as the flash photo’d picture. It does!  But surprisingly, the Beef Ravioli wasn’t as bad as I expected. Tasted like Chef Boyardee. I still have a can of Spaghetti & Meatballs if anyone wants it.

Atlantis Attic at White Castle

This mural for the hip vintage clothing store just popped up. I didn’t know you could make a White Castle look ugly.
