Trouble on the L train yesterday. It was going really slow. Then finally they let us off at Bedford and told us there were no trains into Manhattan. I figured I’d stop off for a meal until the trains worked itself out.
I tried the lunch special at S & B for $7.50. Sauerkraut & Mushroom Pierogies and Split Pea Soup. Now looking at the menu, I didn’t seem to get the 2 vegetables and dessert, coffee or tea with the special. Maybe because I didn’t ask? Well I wasn’t missing it. I was too busy being impressed with the Split Pea Soup –chunky with potato, bacon, kielbasa and carrots. It was the best Split Pea Soup I’ve ever had.
Unfortunately the trains still weren’t running when I finished. Someone jumped in front of the tracks. Makes me feel weird thinking about this meal.
