Another lunch to-go at Taste Good. I was pointing and picking my items over rice and the two Chinese ladies were saying something belongs to the “lang knui” (which means pretty girl). I was the only one in line so I was wondering if they were talking about me. Fortunately, a young pretty Chinese lady did step up to get her food. Or maybe unfortunately, because I wouldn’t mind being called pretty.
I remember when I was a little kid visiting Hong Kong & China, strangers would call me “fay jay” (fat boy). That’s how unabashed they are …and that’s how fat I was.
