So I owed Sam some meat for winning last season’s Fantasy Football, which ended over six months ago. I figured I should I finally pay up. I took him to Amber Steakhouse in Greenpoint. It seemed to be very affordable, easy to get a table and they accept credit cards …which all seem hard to find in NYC for some reason. And this place was pretty awesome.
We got a 48 oz Porterhouse for Two ($72), which came with two potatoes (we chose Mashed and Home Fries). Plus we got a side of Creamed Spinach ($5). The steak was really nice. So big …it was really difficult to finish, but we did it. We also really liked the sides.
This place is great. I figure it would have cost around 50% more anywhere else in NYC for all this food. I don’t know if the steak is as good as Peter Luger’s, but it’s really good at this price and convenience (easy to be seated and takes credit cards).
Why don’t more expensive places take credit cards in Brooklyn? I don’t get it.
