2 Bros Pizza Plus Raises The Prices

Recently, one of my favorite cheap lunch spots (2 Bros Pizza Plus –see Jerk Chicken, see Pizza, see Ribs, see Fish and Chips) raised the prices mostly 25cents on each dish. Pizza slices are still $1. Still a really good deal though.

The guy behind me in line was “Oh man, they raised their prices? Why did they do that?” I turned around and looked at him like “yeah, I know. Right?” Then he kept asking me seriously, “Why did they do that?” He really wanted me to explain to him why they raised their prices 25cents. He couldn’t understand why.

Then the guy in front of me pointed at the Fried Chicken and asked if that was the Baked Chicken. Then he asked which one was the Baked Chicken. Then he got the Fried Chicken.

It was strange. These two men did not look old, poor, or stupid. They looked like me. …Oh shit.

2 Bros Pizza Plus’ Fish & Chips

First time I’ve seen fried fish at 2 Bros Pizza Plus. I picked it up with fries at only $4. Solid meal at a low price. No tartar sauce though. Still I’m constantly impressed with 2 Bros Pizza …well except for their pizza.

$2 Rib Tips at 2 Bros Pizza Plus

Yesterday, I was picking up another $2 Jerk Chicken, but instead saw $2 Rib Tips! I’ve never seen that before. The BBQ sauce reminded me of Chinese take out ribs and the meat was super tender. I’m thinking probably boiled, then baked. I sucked on the cartilage.

$1 slice at 2 Bros Pizza Plus

The jerk chicken at 2 Bros Pizza Plus has quickly become my regular go-to lunch as of late. Only $2 for a quarter dark meat, this has to be the best chicken deal in the Flatiron area …or even city. 2 Bros for Life!

This time I tried their $1 pizza slice with Shonali, that every high school kid there devouring. It’s not great pizza, but good enough for most situations. I saw three pizzas come out of the oven, sliced up and sold immediately while we were in line. That’s how fresh you get it. I would say it’s worth more like a $2 NYC slice. Here’s a interesting NYTimes article about the $1 pizza slices of New York and how they do it.

2 Bros Pizza Plus’ Jerk Chicken and Spicy Rice

From the $1 pizza slice and fried chicken joint, here’s their jerk chicken and spicy chicken rice. $4 for the platter here ($2 quarter jerk chicken). The food looks much better than my old pics of the same food. After getting over the saltiness of the chicken, it was pretty darn good –not jerking you around.

The Dollar Store of Restaurants

passed by 2 bros pizza plus which looks like mario and luigi or what my next door neighbor called “super merrio brahs”. everything is a dolla. pizza a dolla. fried chicken’s a dolla. sides are a dolla. i remember the first time i went into a dollar store, i was confused because nothing had pricetags …and i’d keep bringing stuff up to the cashier to ask how much it was. now you have these 99cent stores in new york, but nothing is 99cents. it all costs something else.

…anyway everything at 2 brahs is $1, except jerk chicken. it’s $2 dolla.

and got to check out pulse park in madison square park. lights all set up on the lawn and pulse at night. i can’t figure how to play it. it’s like mario brahs for the first time.
