The Soft Serve Fruit Co – Win a $20 gift card!

I was invited to taste the new The Soft Serve Fruit Co in the Upper East Side. I wasn’t sure what it was, because I’m bad at reading my emails. It looks like frozen yogurt, but it’s fruit —(fruit puree, water and cane sugar). Their whole shtick is “Cholesterol free, Fat free, Dairy free, Gluten free”. I don’t usually eat sweets or treats and this was really tasty. The right amount of sweetness. Not too much.

They have a toppings bar so could fuck up any healthy thing you were going for. The picture is of their Crunchy Salty (pretzels, chocolate chips, hot peanut butter over banana soft serve). It was really yummy.

You can win this $20 gift card they gave me. The contest is to send me a quick photo or drawing of how hot, sweaty and desperate you are for a frozen treat (that you are willing to let me republish). Senegalese Summer Ticket Giveaway

I have a free ticket to giveaway (courtesy of Lake Isle Press) to this awesome food event, celebrating Pierre Thiam’s battle on Iron Chef America. There will be a special screening of this upcoming episode where he battles Iron Chef Bobby Flay, unlimited sangria & Senegalese food and music.

All you have to do to enter for the ticket giveaway is email me at jason@mightysweet.com and I’ll either pick one from random or choose the strangest message. If no one enters, I’ll just take your mom.

Tickets are also available here for $25 advance ($30 door). No need to tell me to drink $25 worth of sangria and try new ethnic food I’ve never had.

Ice Cream Drawing Winners

For the SONIC Drive-In Ice Cream Social and lunch box goodie prizes, here are the best three submissions …out of a record-high three submitters. They are pretty rad.

From C. Marie: “Here is my drawing of all my friends if they were all women eating ice cream in a field at sunset listening to Ghostrider by Suicide. The flavors are Vanilla, Pistachio, Strawberry, and Hazelnut. I painted it on a piece of resume paper I found on the ground because what else would I use it for?”

I like the story behind this. I can’t believe the dog eats Pistachio!!

2010 Pi Day Bake-off

My friends at Seed Magazine/ScienceBlogs and SeriousEats are getting ready to throw their annual Pi Day Bake-off. All you need to do is bake your pie, photograph and submit.
