It was so nice to be sent this growler of beer to my office. I swear I didn’t drink any at work.
This beer, named Saison Liaison, is a new limited time brew between Harpoon Brewery and Whole Foods. I kept pronouncing it as “Sye-son Lye-son,” but then realized that the last word is “Lee-ay-zon.” Confirmed: it’s “SAY-ZON LEE-AY-ZON.” Much fancier pronunciation.
I took it home to share with my friends. Rusty, not a beer connoisseur, but he sure drinks the most beer than anyone I know –he liked it. Took it as a sipping beer and reminded me that it tasted like a fancy Belgium beer. I agreed. It was good. I didn’t really sip it though. I gulped it. Then I saw that my glass had old paint on it. Dang, Rusty. What the hell? So I got a new glass. It’s a fine beer …better than the light stuff I drink everyday.
Only available for a very limited time at Whole Foods (NY stores offering draft growlers). $25 for a 64oz growler; $13 for a 32oz growler. ABV: 6.5%
