The Dubliner

I met up with Shonali on Stone Street in the Financial District. Holy moly! I didn’t realize this street existed –cobblestone street full of outdoor restaurant seating. It looks like a European town that you see in the movies!

There are several restaurants. We chose the Dubliner, an Irish pub… because I thought the Fish and Chips looked really good on someone’s plate. Although, I ended up getting the Guinness and Beef Stew $16. Shonali saved the day and got the Fish and Chips, so we could split both. They were both good.

Stone Street is really cool!

McGarry’s Irish Breakfast

I went to the Javitz Center to check out the Engadget Expand show (gadget and tech). I really want to check out Avegant’s new virtual retinal head-mount display prototype.

First, I needed to get some food in my belly. There’s not much over there on the very west side of Manhattan. I came across McGarry’s Irish Pub that had a brunch deal. $11.95 for brunch and a complimentary drink.

I got the Irish Breakfast (Irish bacon, sausage, black and white pudding, 2 eggs, homefries and toast) and a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary wasn’t that good, but the Irish Breakfast was great. I remember trying an Irish Breakfast someplace a long time ago and thought it sucked. This was good. The white and black (blood) pudding sausage was good too.

And here’s my review of Avegant’s virtual retinal display…
