Absinthe Brasserie & Bar

After Aaron & Kristy’s wedding, Pavan, Sarah and I stumbled into Absinthe where their executive chef is a Top Chef contestant. We had the french fries, the summer squash & corn flatbread and the spicy fried chickpeas, which I don’t remember ordering. I really can’t remember if I liked the food. I was pretty toasted from the reception and all the dancing. I do remember I thought the flatbread tasted like pizza. Pizza taste good, right?

Aaron & Kristy’s Wedding

The Place: Swedish American Hall. Commonly used as a music venue.
The Food: Vegetarian & Vegan dishes by Premiere Catering. They had Vegetable Lasagna, just like Seinfeld. I liked Vegetable Lasagna. Dessert by Mission Pies, which does a lot of work with at-risk youths. Tasty banana cream pie. The Dance party got rowdy.

Casa Mexicana – Mission Burrito

Touch down in San Fransisco. Headed out to the Mission District to meet my host, Pavan. Wow, they have the most scariest homeless people I have ever come across. Very confrontational and aggressive. More on that later in other posts.

First thing I gotta try is one of these Mission Burritos that San Fran is known for. Pavan explains to the variations that you can find. Some don’t believe in rice and beans, some are better for certain meats, some you can have wet (smothered in enchilada sauce). I say I want mine wet, so he took me to Casa Mexicana after their first location we intended to go to was closed. We shared their Aztec Burrito with Chicken Mole all wet. I don’t normally like mole sauce in a burrito, but this worked. Tasty.
