We tried out these Red Castle Beef Patties we got at the supermarket. I never understood the pricing of beef patties. They seem to cost more than it would if you bought one at a bodega or NY pizzeria. Just like those frozen White Castle burgers at the supermarket. They cost more than fresh ones at a real White Castle. I guess not everyone lives next to one like I do.
Anyway, these were pretty good. Flaky crust. Nice filling …although, it had the tendency to slide to one side of the patty.
Sam brought these Doritos Locos Tacos Doritos, the chip based on the Taco Bell Doritos Locos tacos based on the Doritos chip. There were Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch versions. Each bag had a mix of two chips –Nacho Cheese and the Locos Tacos chip or Cool Ranch and the Locos Tacos chip.
I don’t think we understood when we first ate it. Some of us were like it taste like regular Doritos. Some of us thought it tasted like taco meat. You can tell which one’s which by seeing how much seasoning is on it. But honestly, I couldn’t tell the different that much anyway. Maybe the seasoning got mixed around in the bag onto other chips.
I thought it tasted almost like a plain taco shell with a little bit of Doritos seasoning. So kind of like a less flavorful Doritos. Weird. But I bet it’ll taste great with some taco meat on it.
I’ve used this Taco Seasoning Mix a few times from Trader Joe’s. It’s flavorful, cheap (79 cents), but burns your butthole so bad afterward. But maybe that’s more my fault. I looked at the instructions this time and you’re supposed to use only half of the packet per pound of meat. I was dumping the whole packet in.
So this time I only used half. It wasn’t as awesome tasting or as spicy, but my butt thanks me.
Todd brought this bag of Crispy Fried Chicken Skins over for football. He found it in a bodega in East New York for $1. He thought he got the white man price.
They were like pork rinds, just as I assumed. Maybe could have used a little more salt to keep me eating the whole bag.
Everything on this plate is chicken.
Sam also shared these Pumpkin Spice Hershey’s Kisses. The bag was tough to open, so I gave it a good pull and the bag broke. Now he has to put them in another bag.
These little kisses were awesome. They tasted like Pumpkin Pie …and I was just thinking how I would love to have a slice of pumpkin pie.
Sam shared these new holiday M&M’s at work today –White Chocolate Candy Corn. I don’t remember the last time I ate candy, but I know I never liked Candy Corn. I hated getting them in my sack of Halloween candy. I never understood them. So why would you want to ruin M&M’s like that?
Well these tasted more like White Chocolate than it did Candy Corn, which is good. But the center still looked like the white parts of Candy Corn. I guess it’s a good novelty though.
I just thought of a really bad idea —Circus Peanut Reese’s Pieces. I don’t like Circus Peanuts.
…I just realized that M&M’s and Reese’s both have apostrophes. But why does M&M’s have one? Aren’t they M&Ms? They aren’t possessive. They just are.
Rusty’s buddy just started making hot sauces (Los Salsas De Los Muertos) and sent us a sample pack. It was after a late night when we tried it. We took off all the caps that told us the level of spiciness. Then we forgot which one was which. They were all really good tasting. Not so high on the heat, but good on flavor. Really good to dump on some chili or whatever you have that needs some flavor.

This can of Krasdale Corned Beef Hash is a little bit cheaper than the name brands –Libby’s, Hormel. I figured I’d give it a shot. I love me some Corned Beef Hash with Eggs and Sriracha. Not bad for Krasdale. Not so greasy coming out of the can. It’s comparable to Libby’s. I’d get it again. I messed up the eggs though.
